The Buttery Queer Open Mic at The Junk Bar

As Part of Melt Fest

We are honoured to be part of Melt Fest, Brisbane’s festival of Queer Arts and Culture this year as we bring our Buttery spirit to the intimate corners of The Junk Bar for a queer-led open mic, followed by a set from one of Brissy's fav queer bands! Bring your music, comedy, poetry, or whatever you can dream of. Whether you’re a bedroom songwriter debutant, brand new band or a seasoned comic testing new material, this is your stage. In the spirit of Melt Fest, expect a warm, inclusive room where everyone (that's right, everyone!!!) is welcome, and every mistake gets an applause.

Note to performers: We will be releasing an early sign up form in the coming weeks for those keen to not miss out on a spot on the stage, and will have a few spaces available for first in best dressed on the day.
