45 minute weekly group lessons (max 4 people, recommended for kids 8 to 16 years old) - $40
45 minute 1 on 1 lesson - $65 (weekly and fortnightly options available, recommended for adults as well as kids who don’t benefit from group learning)
45 minute casual 1 on 1 lesson - $75

There is something seriously special about the bass guitar, and if you have been drawn to bass guitar lessons, there’s something special about you too! Here at The Buttery Music School we tailor our bass guitar lessons to the individual student, while also pulling from The Buttery Curriculum and Buttery Song Books to provide consistently fun and exciting lessons that allow students to gain strong, in depth knowledge and skills on the bass guitar.
Our in depth lessons provide everything you need plus more to achieve your bass playing dreams. This can include:
Chords, scales and music theory
Rhythm and timing
Learning your favourite songs
Improvisation and soloing
Songwriting
How to nurture your inner funk. This one is particularly fun to learn, and particularly unavoidable when you learn at The Buttery.

An epic talent show each year where all students have the chance to perform
School holiday workshops and band camps.
Each year we take 4 student bands up to our good friends at Tallowood Studios in Mount Glorious to record an original song they have written in their band sessions

Meet our Bass Guitar Teacher:
AARON SHANAHAN:
Aaron is a musician, songwriter and producer with over 20 years in the music industry. His experience covers touring and recording internationally with Miami Horror, tour managing Australian acts Vera Blue and Allday, to recently working as a music facilitator running workshops, teaching and starting his own organization Imagine Music.
He is passionate about encouraging, supporting and guiding musicians in achieving their goals and connecting them to the magic and fun of music!
