JUNIOR ROCK BAND!
A one-day band session for young ones to get a taste of the Buttery band program!
🌈 Overview
Junior Rock Band is a 3-hour session where a group of up to 5 kids aged 7–12 form a band, and get a taste of what it’s like to rock out in The Buttery band program. Over one jam-packed morning, kids will form a band and learn a rock/ pop song across drums, bass, guitar, keys, and vocals. We will also come up with our band name, make our very own VIP lanyards to take home, make some cool new buddies and do a band photoshoot (so wear something that makes you feel like a rock star)! No music experience is necessary, but also if you already rock on an instrument, that will be awesome too.

Session 1:
10am - 1pm Tuesday 1st of July
For ages 7–9 years old
Max 5 kids
Session 2:
10am - 1pm Wednesday 2nd of July
For ages 10-12 years old
Max 5 kids
Location - The Buttery Music School - 217 Macarthur Ave Hamilton
Cost - $75 per person
🥁 What we'll do:
Learn a rock/ pop song on each instrument (drums, bass, keys, guitar, vocals) as a band
Rock out playing the song as a band!!
Decide on our band name, create VIP artist lanyards and do a band photoshoot
Jam out, make friends, build confidence!
SONGWRITING SESSIONS
A songwriting workshop for beginner songwriters aged 12 to adult
🌈 Overview
Songwriting sessions is a 3 hour workshop where we write original tunes together as a group, learning some of The Buttery’s signature songwriting techniques.
🥁 What we'll do:
Write an original song as a group, led by a Buttery mentor
Learn the basics of song structure and song writing
Learn a number of Buttery signature songwriting techniques such as the wordsplash and mumble technique that allow you to quickly and easily dive into writing a song without your mind holding you back
Have a chance to use these techniques to write a song on your own or in a break out group

When: 10am - 1pm Thursday 3rd of July
Who is it for: Anyone aged 12 to adult interested in learning how to write a song, or just feeling like making some new friends and doing something cool
Location - The Buttery Music School - 217 Macarthur Ave Hamilton
Cost - $50 per person
